Abortionist Dr. Gosnell, 69, has been charged with murder in deaths of an adult patient and seven babies who prosecutors say were delivered alive alive in the final months of pregnancy.
A grand jury report found that Gosnell had severed the spinal cords of the babies, operated without licensed caregivers, spread disease with infected instruments and perforated patients wombs and bowels.
Roe v Wade allows abortion up to the end of the second trimester or 27 weeks of gestation. Baby becomes viable, able to sustain independent life , at 20 weeks of gestation.
